Which type of person are you? Do you do research ahead of time, and then go straight to the piece that you know will captivate you? Or do you prefer to go in blind and be surprised by what you find?

Do you walk from piece to piece, thinking "Wow, that's art?" and then move on to the next? Or do you stop and contemplate the piece for 5 minutes?

I'm a bit of "all of the above". I tend to go from piece to piece until I find the one that captivates me, and then I spend a long time with that one piece.

I used to live in D.C. so I went to a lot of art museums in a short period of time.

This installation (which I can't remember the name of), with a set of TVs for each US state showing media relevant to that state, was easy to be sucked into.

I spent a long time looking at The Voyage of Life by Thomas Cole. The striking vistas and contrast provide a good reminder of my own humanity.

I'm sure there was more — those are the two that stand out to me.

I don't think there's a wrong way to do art galleries. Well, aside from not going in the first place.
